Privacy Policy
Information Collection and Use
The Pendleton Community Public Library collects data to measure usefulness of the information contained on its site, and the library is the sole owner of that information. It is neither shared nor sold to others.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the library’s app or website.
Log Files
The library utilizes IP addresses to analyze trends and track a user's movement within the site. This helps determine which content users find relevant, allowing the library to continue to improve those areas. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Links
The library’s app and website contain links to other sites. Please be aware that the Pendleton Community Public Library is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. The library encourages its patrons to be knowledgeable about the privacy statements of any website that collects personally identifiable information.
Notification Messaging Terms and Conditions
The library occasionally contacts registered patrons via SMS or text messaging. Personal information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes or any other reason outside the library’s scope of sending text or SMS messages. The types of messages the library may send include account notifications, such as overdue and hold notices. Message and data rates may apply. Patrons may opt in/out of text notifications by selecting their notification preference in their online account or notifying a library staff member. For assistance with managing text notifications, or for questions regarding messages, patrons can reply by texting "HELP" or by contacting the library at (765) 778-7527. Failure to receive a library account notice does not waive patron responsibility for the timely return of library materials.
