About Pendleton Community Library
Our Mission
Traditional Library Services
Despite all of the ways that public libraries are evolving, we still consider traditional library services to be at our core. Whether you need help researching your ancestors, using a new electronic device, or just looking for your next great read, the library is here to help. The library holds a collection of nearly 70,000 titles, and our librarians are always working to make sure that the collection is fresh and relevant to the needs of our patrons. We have books, movies, and magazines, as well as a copier and a fax machine. The Pendleton Community Public Library is all you’d expect it to be, plus so much more.
Creative Initiatives
We enjoy trying new things, and sometimes we’re pretty darn good at it. Check out the Pendleton Community Garden, the Alpha Seed Library, and Read ‘n’ Feed as examples of how thinking outside the box can build a community. Did you know that you can visit the library for free Yoga instruction or one-on-one help with your resume? Stop in to see what’s going on in the teen department. There just might be a book discussion, video game tourney, or meeting of the Anime Society. We are always looking for new ways to serve our patrons, and we love to surprise you.
Up-To-Date Technology
Staying up-to-date with technology is a challenge for everybody, and your library is here to help. Get your work done at a desktop computer, equipped with Microsoft Office. Or bring your own device and tap into our free, fast wi-fi. Our color copy machine can scan to email, free of charge. Check out a Google Chromebook to use at the library. Or take home a wi-fi hotspot to provide access to the Internet wherever you are. Check out streaming music and movies. Or download the latest and greatest ebook or audiobook. The library even has a 65” touchscreen computer for exciting programs and productive meetings.
Comfortable Facility
Once you walk in to the Pendleton Community Public Library, you’ll feel right at home. With windows everywhere, warm woodwork, and cozy colors, you’ll forget all of your preconceived notions of the public library. Sit in our café and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Build, play, and explore in the children’s department where there is always a new puzzle, toy, or activity to keep your little one busy. And, when the weather is warm, connect to our wi-fi, and sit outside on our patio to enjoy the sunshine.
Friendly, Helpful Staff
We are committed to doing our very best to help you during every visit, no matter what you need. Our staff is friendly, helpful and genuinely likes to interact with people from all walks of life. We get excited with the thrill of a hunt and always enjoy a good challenge. Finding answers to your questions is our specialty here at the library. It’s simply what we love to do!
