Children's Book Clubs

The purpose of a book club is to create an environment where readers get together to enjoy the same book.  Book clubs are an excellent way to discover new books and make new friends.  Pendleton Library hosts two children's book clubs each month.  "BookWorms," for first and second graders, meet every third Monday.  "Rocket Readers," for grades three through six, meet every fourth Monday.

Club members have a great time!  Not only do they get to read entertaining, thought provoking, and educational books, they also have a theme related craft and snack at each meeting.  In addition, Rocket Readers had the opportunity to participate in community service projects and performed a puppet play for the younger readers.

There is a small monthly book fee for each club member.  However, it's always below retail book cost.  Since 2007, Pendleton Kiwanis has supported our book clubs by paying the balance of all book costs.

If you are interested in becoming a book club member, please email Peggy Lyons at plyons@pendleton.lib.in.us.
